- commissioning editors: a commissioning editor generally tells the publishing house which book the publish.
- producers- Producers hire the camera operators and the rest of the crew so they can start filming.
- • directors- Directors is who directs the film and generally controls the actors and visualises the script.
- •script editor: a script editor is a member of the production team who helps produce the script.
- •agents: agents help promote the script and sell the script to people. Agents also help you get your name out there so you become recognised by more people and get more jobs.
Working as a writer:
- agent representation is when your agent sells your script of they promote it for a fee.
- royalty payments are when say a music artist lets his or hers music be on a advert or in a film and they get royalty's from it.
- time management is when you manage your time carefully like setting goals of what you want to get done in that day, you could say I want to get three or four pages done today and if you set them as your goals you are more likely to archive them.
Legal and ethical considerations:
- copyright; When writers are writing they need to copyright their work because if they don't it can be stolen by other people/writers. When the writer has copyrighted his or hers script it must be clearly exposed, for example on the foot (the bottom) of every page so people can see it has been copyrighted and they wont steal the script and if they want to use parts they need the writers permission.
- bias is when you take someone's side so some journalists would only show one side of the story which might be a lie and they just show what they think they want you to see.
- censorship; Censorship, the writers are restricted when it comes to using violence and sex. It is rare to release a film which contains real racial intolerance and sexism. Some people could argue that it is good to show this as it could be positive.
- watersheds; the watershed is when channels are allowed to show graphic violence, horror, strong language, nudity, sexual intercourse, gambling and drug use after a certain time so in the UK it is 9pm to 5:30am. The rules for the premium channels have been relaxed so they can now show until 6 however shows that are rated 15 cannot be shown outside this period.
- libel is when you make a story/script and you cant say the persons real name. so if I made a true story about my friend I couldn't use their name.
- plagiarism is when you steal someone's idea, thoughts, language or expressions but claim it as your own.
